Against the backdrop of ongoing global conflicts and high energy prices, diesel generators are rising from a peripheral role to a market player with their outstanding economic efficiency and increasingly mature technology.
Recently, tensions in the Middle East and the Russia-Ukraine conflict have continued to impact the global energy supply chain. The benchmark price of ICE low sulfur diesel in Europe has risen by nearly 15% since June 2025. The price difference of diesel cracking in Northwest Europe has increased by 41% year-on-year to $24.6 per barrel, and the price difference of diesel in Europe/Singapore/United States has surged to $41/33/48 per barrel, up 174%, 93%, and 110% respectively from the beginning of the year. In contrast, gasoline has a significant disadvantage in the energy game - its energy density is about 12% lower than diesel, and its fuel consumption is higher under the same operating conditions. When facing price fluctuations, the disadvantage of user holding costs is further amplified.

The core advantage of diesel generators lies in their excellent economy. The effective thermal efficiency of diesel engines can reach 30% to 46%, far exceeding gasoline engines and gas turbines, which means that fuel consumption is significantly lower under the same power generation. Experts point out that if the gasoline range extender system is replaced with a diesel solution, fuel consumption can be reduced from 6 liters per 100 kilometers to 4 liters. It is precisely this characteristic of "using more and saving more" that makes diesel generators particularly economically advantageous in long-term continuous power supply scenarios.
More noteworthy are the profound changes in the market landscape. The generator market, which used to be dominated by gasoline engines, is being reshaped by diesel generators. It is predicted that the global diesel generator market will grow from 22.2 billion US dollars in 2025 to 31.8 billion US dollars in 2030, with an average annual compound growth rate of 7.5%. In the Chinese market, the market size of diesel generators is expected to reach 12.5 billion yuan by 2025, a year-on-year increase of 53%. With the increasing maturity of high-power unit technology and the acceleration of domestic substitution, diesel generators are entering an unprecedented golden period of development.
Industry analysis points out that in the current global energy uncertainty, choosing diesel generators is not only an economic choice, but also a wise choice.
